Qual o significado de férias?

Alguém me diz qual o verdadeiro significado de férias?

Férias não deveria querer dizer descanso?Passeio?Não fazer nada? Em tempos achei que sim,neste momento sinto que vou dar em doida com as férias! Entrei de "férias" há uns dias e sinto que estava melhor se não tivesse de férias! Já não oiço falar em trabalhos, trabalhos e mais trabalhos, não sei como vou conseguir fazer tudo em tão pouco tempo. Instrumentos de música, planificações, diários de bordo, fantoches, meu Deus vou elouquecer :S
